Nest #4 status and archive, 2011-12

Nest #4. This pair is not banded, but we can tell the difference between the female and the male by their beaks. Penguin beaks are very similar, but have some distinct differences. They nested here last year and were successful in raising chicks. We hope they will be again. Their nest is located in the Rocks N section of the colony on a slope with many large rocks around it. It should be secure from the Skuas. It is also just above Nest #5. This nest has been named by Ms. Erslers class. The female is Bella, the male is Spinner.

First egg: Nov 12, 2011

Second egg: Nov 14, 2011

First chick: Dec 15, 2011

Second chick: Dec 17, 2011
